Government to refit ENS Vaskor to full operational standard, retire A-10K Siagerrils and seek new foreign-designed air wing
President Varduk’s government has decided to keep Erisoria’s only aircraft carrier and return her to full readiness after years of reduced status. The Navy’s A-10K Siagerril strike aircraft will be retired, and a replacement air wing will be sought from foreign manufacturers.
By Orin Valdresh, Defense Correspondent | Belmiret
The Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that ENS Vaskor will undergo a comprehensive refit at the Belmiret National Shipbuilding Yard in Thessen, ending a period in which the ship has remained on the Navy’s commissioned register while spending most of the past several years docked. The plan to convert her into a museum ship has been cancelled, in what the navy has described as a “naval capability required to counter emerging potential adversary aircraft carrier fleets within Argis and beyond.”
The decision settles a question that has hung over the carrier since a defense review began in September, and it comes earlier than the early-2027 timetable the new government had indicated. A formal cost will be set out in the government’s 90-day fiscal plan, due in January.
The announcement appears to reverse the direction signaled in September, when sources said the review favored spending on asymmetric capability such as drones, anti-carrier weapons, and coastal denial over large surface platforms. Defense officials said that was not the case. The refit, they said, would sit alongside those programs, and the ship’s aviation facilities would be rebuilt to operate unmanned aircraft as well as crewed ones.
Officials pointed to Vaskor’s deployment into international waters last summer, her first sortie in years, as evidence that the hull is sound and worth the investment. They also said a refitted carrier would give Erisoria and its West Argic Security Pact partners an air cover and presence option in the Argic Ocean and Sakspati Sea that coastal systems cannot provide.
The A-10K Siagerril, a navalized derivative of a license-built Iverican design, specifically the SeT-93 Aguila, has been the ship’s principal aircraft since 2005. Navy sources said the type is now difficult to sustain and cannot be brought up to a standard the refitted ship would need. Officials said developing a naval variant of a domestic aircraft would not fit within the refit timetable, so the Ministry of Defense will invite proposals from foreign manufacturers.
The evaluation is expected to cover carrier-capable multirole fighters as well as airborne early warning aircraft and helicopters. The flight deck and arresting arrangements will be finalized once a type has been chosen, so that the refit and the aircraft selection proceed together. The Ministry has not named any candidate type or country yet. The Ministry of Defense is set to tap the International Contracting Office to invite potential suppliers of the A-10Ks’ replacement.
Until the refit is complete, Erisoria will have no carrier aviation capability. Navy pilots will be reassigned to other units or sent for training on the selected type.

Five nations sign Auriel–Hei Basin Compact in Sotheris
Tuesday, October 6th, 2026
Following almost a year of negotiations, the chief executives of five nations met in Aldace’s capital city of Sotheris yesterday to sign the founding charter of the Auriel–Hei Basin Compact. The signatories were the Republic of Aldace, the Federal Republic of Ionio, the New Occident Coalition, the Confederation of Kalei, and the Republic of Tavok. The organization’s stated aim is to increase the prosperity of the nations on the Hei Sea, Lotus Sea, and the Gulf of Auriel by reducing barriers to trade and providing a shared set of rules governing shipping and transit.
Four of the five signatories are bicameral democracies, where signing must be followed by ratification by the national legislative bodies — both houses in Ionio’s Congress, Kalei’s Parliament, and Tavok’s Ryygivaal; and the upper house (High Council) in Aldace. The five constituent states within the New Occident Coalition are democratic to varying degrees, but each sends a delegation to the Coalition Senate which will vote on ratification.
The initial draft of the Compact was put forward by Tavok’s executive branch in early January of this year, and negotiations had taken on a greater urgency following Cruciastada’s invasion of Manamana in late July and the subsequent closure of the Manamana Canal, which substantially raised the cost of many goods which had been flowing across the Canal to nations of the Basin area — in particular, Cruciastad crude oil. One hope for the signatories is that easing trade between nations to the west of the Canal might help to offset the price shock.
Additional nations on the Auriel–Hei Basin had been involved in discussions, and the invitation had been extended to each nation on its shoreline. It has been reported that some nations may have been put off by the stridency of the tariff clause, which requires the full elimination of tariffs on goods produced and exchanged among member states, excepting origin-neutral levies like a carbon tax adjustment.
In her speech at the ceremony, Tavok’s President Ilyra Solen expressed her hope for timely ratification of the Compact within each nation’s legislature, and reiterated her stance in favor of swiftly admitting the twin exclaves on the coast of Esonice — the Garindinan city of Yedo and the Tagmatine city of Maimi — once the Compact has been ratified. Tavok’s chief executive also emphasized that nations of the Basin region which had not yet signed were invited to apply, stressing the “substantial economic benefits” to both current and prospective members of enlarging the trade zone.

Currency Reform
New Coalition Currency Announced
Photo of Coalition Currency Board Chairman Jeronymus Polidus.
Coalition Currency Board Chairman Polidus has announced that the Four Nations have come together to formally establish a new currency between them.
The currency will be known in the long form as the Sôniyâw (ᓲᓂᔮᐤ), however for international trading considerations the officially accepted short form will be Sôn (Pronounced as ‘Sone or Soan’ in Anglish). It will be represented by the symbol:
ᓲ
Which originates from Meskanu Syllabics.
Polidus has put forward that the decision has been made to make the Sôn a stronger currency, reflecting the goals of the Currency Board of ensuring easier imports, usability as a potential reserve currency, strong controls against inflation as economies around the globe struggle during the crisis, as well as managing future foreign debt as the Coalition continues to expand.
Initially the board is aiming for a valuation of 1.4 Adapton Solidus to 1 Sôn.
Each nation’s currencies will be set to specific static exchange levels throughout the transition process. All digital currencies will be exchanged automatically over the next month, with paper currency currently being printed to fulfill required projections and available for exchange at all licensed national banks starting the same day as this article. Over the next three years, local currencies will be able to be swapped for Sôn and still used for legal transaction until the cutoff date of October 28th, 2029.

Quote of the Week
“Warm congratulations to President Sena Varduk on her inauguration as Erisoria’s eighth President. The first for the Toilers’ Front. Orioni salutes a peaceful transfer of power and looks forward to deeper friendship between our nations and peoples.”
— Edric Kageni, Orioni Representative
Global Flashpoint: The Krause Islands
The ongoing instability surrounding the Krause Islands has escalated into a military confrontation, characterized by maritime operations and intensifying political scrutiny over the handling of the regional crisis by the Konfederacija Poja military leadership.
Lead Story: Political Transition and Legislative Reform in Erisoria
The Erisorian Federation has entered a new political era following the inauguration of Sena Varduk as the eighth President of the federation. As the first leader from the Toilers’ Front, her administration has begun to assert its platform through a series of rapid legislative actions, including the introduction of the Social Cohesion and Public Standards (Amendment) Bill. This initiative aims to restore legal recognition for same-sex marriages, a significant policy shift within the nation’s governance as reported by the Erisorian State News.
The transition has been met with diplomatic recognition from international neighbors, including formal congratulations from the nation of Orioni. However, the administration maintains a complex internal balance; while the new bill restores marital rights, it explicitly preserves existing legislative bans regarding the public display of LGBT symbols, reflecting a calculated political path for the Toilers’ Front and their coalition partners in the Democratic Renewal party.
Politics
The Erisorian Federal Council is currently debating the Social Cohesion and Public Standards (Amendment) Bill, which seeks to reverse recent restrictions on marriage equality while upholding other aspects of the controversial public standards legislation supported by the new government.
Military
The Konfederacija Poja has faced intense scrutiny regarding the management of the Krause Islands conflict, with Chairman-Maršal Žarko Novaković addressing press inquiries following the KTA attack on a forward operating base at the Ministry of National Defense. Simultaneously, naval operations continue in the Kezanoi Sea, where medical personnel aboard the LHD Putnik are managing overflow casualties as part of the broader military engagement in the theater of operations.
The Luternan National Assemblies have successfully passed a significant multi-year naval procurement bill, earmarking approximately $9 billion over the next decade to modernize the Luternan Maritime Component’s fleet. This massive capital project includes the construction of new frigates, corvettes, and, for the first time, a dedicated submarine branch as confirmed by regional reports.
Business
The Republic of Tamurin has facilitated a significant humanitarian contribution to the Republic of Zekistan, donating A$2 million to the World Food Program. This initiative focuses on sustaining school feeding programs for 65,000 children, targeting malnutrition and educational attendance rates according to reports from Manzarabad.
Culture
The historical account of the War of Akiiryan continues to provide a harrowing perspective on regional conflict, with newly archived records detailing the impact of naval bombardment on civilian infrastructure and the immediate displacement of populations during the 1870 period of the Zul-based theater of war.
Entertainment
Bron Urgundy of BS News has provided a grim update from the besieged city of San Cristobal, detailing the depletion of the station’s luxury provisions during the ongoing security crisis. The broadcast serves as a testament to the conditions currently faced by media personnel operating within the conflict zone.
Good evening, connoisseurs of courage and comfort. I am Bron Urgundy, and you are watching BS News, still broadcasting from the besieged luxury of San Cristobal.
THE MINIBAR IS DRY. I made you a promise, folks. I told you I would remain at my post until it ran out. At twenty to midnight on Thursday, I unscrewed the last miniature of hotel gin, drank it standing at the window, and observed a moment of silence. Baxter observed it with me from under the sofa. He has not come out since August.
The vermouth went first, as I reported. Then the dry sherry. Then the cognac, the little bottles of champagne, and finally a green liqueur with a parrot on the label that I would describe as a cry for help. By Wednesday, the minibar contained one tin of salted cashews and a postcard of the canal in happier times.
A lesser man would have evacuated. A lesser man would have accepted the economy seat. Instead, I did what reporters have done since the invention of the printing press. I put on my second-best loafers and went out into the street to buy a drink.
There is a little shop on the corner of the plaza. It had vermouth. Three bottles, dusty, at a price I can only describe as wartime opportunism. I was prepared to pay it. I held out my phone. The owner looked at the screen, looked at me, and laughed so hard he had to sit down on a crate of tinned peaches.
Here is what you need to understand. Since August, my entire personal fortune has been held in OnMun, the stablecoin of the future. A very well-dressed gentleman explained it to me at the hotel bar on the night the invasion began. It cannot crash, he said. It is pegged. It is stable. It is right there in the name. And when socialist tanks are rolling toward the canal, a man wants his savings somewhere no commissar can reach them.
Then, two weeks ago, the Kingdom of Sunseong banned it outright. The Royal Bank of @Sunseong called it a scam. Overnight, my portfolio became worth approximately one cashew. The well-dressed gentleman has since checked out of the hotel. He did not settle his bar tab, which I find ironic. And BSN accounting froze my company card after my Antargis expense report, over a few cases of scotch that were, I maintain, operationally essential. So I stood on that corner, folks, a man of means without the means.
Now ask yourself: why would a kingdom on the other side of the wurld pull the rug in the very week Bron Urgundy needs a drink? I am not saying it was personal. I am saying I have enemies, and they have central banks.
And while I was standing there, parched and penniless, my producer called. He had seen something on the wire. He told me to sit down. I sat down on the tinned peaches.
THEY ARE HERE.
You remember Antargis. You remember how I went down into that bunker under Joint Base Winfield and came up into a different reality, where the guards had never heard of Seylos and told me, to my face, that I was standing on a Nova Occidentalis base. You remember that the network sent me a therapist. I sent her back.
I will be calling them the CON from now on. That is not an insult, folks, it is simply an acronym. In Iberic, the Coalition of Nova Occidentalis becomes the Coalición de Occidente Nuevo, which leaves you with C, O, N. And yes, I am aware of what “con” means in Anglish. A swindle. A fraud. A confidence trick played on honest people. I am also aware that CON is NOC spelled backwards, like a word seen in a mirror, which some might find relevant for a coalition that first appeared to me on the far side of a looking-glass. But I want to be very clear, for the benefit of the Arbiter and his lawyers: I did not choose this name. The Manamanians did. I am merely a humble reporter, repeating what the people on the street are saying. Take it up with them.
Naturally, they did not materialise anywhere near me. They appeared on the far side of the country, in Manaca City, at the eastern end of the canal. That is the one place in Manamana I cannot get to, because the Cruciastâd navy is sitting on the eastern approaches and the canal between us is closed. Coincidence? I have stopped believing in those.
My sources tell me they have sent a Colonel William Asher to negotiate with the local governor. Sixteen square kilometres of land for a permanent airfield. Thousands of tons of asphalt. Hundreds of tons of rebar and concrete. A factory for prefabricated blocks. And this Colonel Asher was a major only a few months ago. Nobody skips ranks like that, folks. Not unless they come from a timeline where they were already promoted.
They have even brought a prince along, a young man called Camden Hayward. And the Wardens of @Pentium are said to be sailing in to join them. Ask yourself why a coalition that did not exist when I left for Antargis needs that much concrete, that quickly. You do not pour sixteen square kilometres of runway for something that is already here. You pour it for whatever is coming through next.
I left Winfield in June. Four months later, the phantoms are building an airport three hundred kilometres from my hotel. I am not saying the portal is following me. I am saying I am the only witness at both scenes.
So here is where we stand. The minibar is empty. My fortune is a joke at a grocery store. And on the other side of a war, an army from another dimension is ordering asphalt in bulk.
I have asked the front desk for a room facing west. Baxter has moved further under the sofa. I filled the last clean tumbler with tap water and dropped in the final ice cube from the bucket, and I am going to drink it slowly.
This is Bron Urgundy, dry, broke, and still on the air. Stay classy, Eurth.
OOC comments:
Bron’s crypto losses are entirely his own fault. Sunseong’s ban was the responsible thing to do, and the “well-dressed gentleman” was exactly what the Royal Bank warned about.
The NOC base and the Pentium deployment come from @Nova_Occidentalis’s posts in the Manamana Crisis thread. Bron’s version of events is, as always, completely unreliable. No portals were involved. Probably.
Bron is still not evacuating despite @Cruciastada advances. He has simply run out of drinks to drink.
Tamurin Supports School Meals in Zekistan
By our foreign affairs correspondent in Alaghon
MANZARABAD, Zekistan – The Wurld Food Program (WFP) has announced a donation by the Republic of Tamurin of A$2 million in support of school feeding programs in Zekistan. The contribution will enable the WFP to feed 65,000 Zeki school children. Zekistan is one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europa and malnutrition is a problem in an alarming number of children in the country according to experts from the WFP and AN.
The donations, which came in the form of rice and canned fish, will help sustain school meals and support children’s dietary diversity, attendance, concentration and learning, while reducing food expenses for their families. Schools that are supported by the WFP and ANICEF record higher attendance rates often exceeding 90%. According to the WFP the donation allows the children to get the education they need and prevent disease that may hamper their growth.
The WFP director in Zekistan, Gilbert Deloffre of Lysia, praised Tamurin and said thanks to the generosity of the Tamurin people “many more children will have a chance to live healthy successful lives.”
WFP reports that Tamurin is one of the largest donors to Zekistan totaling over A$25.2 million in the past ten years. The Tamurine Ambassador stated “We are happy to continue to providing assistance to our neighbors in Europa. Tamurine people believe that all children deserve an education and a healthy diet, no matter where in the wurld they were born.”
The Assembled Nations Wurld Food Program is the largest humanitarian organization in the wurld and helps alleviate crises around the wurld via food assistance and agricultural technical expertise. It is based in Wonchon, Sunseong and accepts donations from governments, private organizations, and individual donors.
Multi-Year Naval Procurement Bill Passes National Assemblies
Valiennes | Following months of negotiations between Luterna’s Maritime Component (LMC), Cantonal representatives, and industry experts, a multi-year naval procurement bill has passed through the National Assemblies with broad support. The procurement bill will kick off a program to renew the entirety of the Luternan Maritime Component’s surface fleet, and earmarks funding for the creation of a submarine branch and the construction of 3 diesel electrib boats, along with the modernisation of support facilities. The bill has been welcomed by the admiralty who have long sought to replace their ageing vessels - all of which were built before the revolution. The entire program is slated to cost roughly $9 billion over the next decade, and will see the building of 3 frigates, 4 corvettes, 6 offshore patrol vessels, 3 mine warfare countermeasure vessels, 2 support and logistics vessels and a pair of diesel-electric submarines. Alongside the announced oceanographic research vessel laid down earlier this month, this massive undertaking will see the full replacement of Luterna’s ageing surface warfare branch, of which a significant portion has spent the lion’s share of the last decade unable to put to sea due to technical issues.
Major hurdles remain for the Defense and Finance Ministries alike, alongside the industrial partners who must deliver this monumental undertaking. Foremost among them is human capital: the defense ministry must accelerate recruitment and training so that its sailors and technicians can master advanced maritime systems upon delivery. To achieve this, the LMC has secured training pacts with allied foreign academies for its officer candidates. By absorbing external procedures and modern standards, Luterna’s navy is taking a critical step toward interoperability with regional partners and modernizing its strategic doctrine.
Meanwhile, regulators in the Finance Ministry will need to actively follow the progress of its industry partners to ensure the program remains in line with agreed timeframes, and within budget constraints. A program of this magnitude has not been undertaken by the Defense Ministry in generations, and as a result there is increased scrutiny and attention to detail when it comes to its management.

Sunseong Outlaws Cryptocurrency Trading in Mun
The Royal Bank of Sunseong Headquarters in Wonchon.
2026 October 17
The Ministry of Finance along with the Royal Bank of Sunseong, the nation’s central bank, took steps today to outlaw cryptocurrency trading in Mun. The government specifically targeted OnMun, a cryptocurrency that calls itself a “stable coin”. The OnMun, short for Online Mun, was traded one for one with regular Mun allegedly assuring investors that it was a safe backup as it would not be subject to the same price fluctuations that plague other cryptocurrencies.
The government has outlawed the trading of Mun for crypto saying that such transactions are scams that undermine the financial sovereignty of the kingdom. Those found to have traded any Crypto for Mun are subject to fines and confiscation of the funds. The Ministry of Finance announced that it plans to crack down hard on such transactions and investigate them thoroughly.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance spoke to the press saying that the government views cryptocurrency as predatory scams that hurt investors. She claimed, “they have no value, the do not retain any value, they are rug pulls, pump and dump scams that’s only value is for those doing criminal activity.” The government pledges to monitor such activities and ensure that anyone pulling such scams on Sunseongin people or using Sunseongin currency are brought to justice.
those in the crypto investing space have decried the changes saying the government has wiped out their investments and that the government does not understand the appeal of the crypto. One trader, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of being investigated, stated, “all investing comes with risk but crypto is the future and these ahjussi[1] are incapable of understanding. The future of finance will be free from government overreach.”
The Royal Bank of Sunseong disagrees stating that the Sunseongin Mun is backed by the full faith and credit of the Kingdom of Sunseong and that crypto is not backed by anything. They pointed to numerous pump and dump schemes in which creators and early investors of cryptocurrencies encourage people to buy into their crypto with the promise of value only to sell their huge portions and leave those remaining with coins worth nothing. The Bank claims that these scams are so common in the crypto world that it completely devalues the sector as, in the words of one bank official, “are unable to make anything that is not volatile and therefore actually usable as currency for everyday people.”
Some have questioned how the government will actually be able to enforce these measures but the Ministry and the Bank both claimed that they are creating a joint investigatory taskforce that will monitor and hunt down what they called “Crypto-criminals”. Sunseong remains one of the first nations on Eurth to attempt to regulate crypto and it remains unclear if it will be an outlier.

Workers Threaten Strike over Energy Crisis Measures, President Begins Ruling by Decree
LANGPAUYA (BBRC) - As the global energy crisis continues to affect Bamraland, various unions; such as the truck drivers’ and factory workers’ unions, have threatened strikes over shorter work weeks and reduced schedules that are preventing employees from receiving a full day’s pay.
Bamrese wages, which have already been described as significantly lower than the global average, are paid on a weekly basis by law. The energy crisis has forced companies to decrease the working day by two or three hours, and cargo transport companies have begun outright cancelling regular truck deliveries - which is important since most truck drivers are paid hourly while doing a delivery and are not paid a fixed hourly wage for being employed by the company. With most of Bamraland still living paycheck to paycheck, the difference a few hours can make has great effects on someone’s living.
Representatives of the Bamra Labor Committee’s National Transportation Workers Federation sister organization have begun threatening strikes if transport companies don’t begin paying drivers a fixed hourly wage regardless of if they’re handling a transport job, or if transport companies don’t begin returning to regular schedules.
Factory workers have threatened strikes if companies don’t provide temporary bonuses to workers to make up for lost hours.
The far-reaching effects of the crisis continues to wreak political chaos, with President Thuta Pyae resorting to ruling by decree after Prime Minister Le Bann declared a national energy emergency. The President’s first decree was to unlock the emergency fuel reserve usually reserved for the military, allowing it to be distributed across emergency and public services across the country.

LEGISLATION INTRODUCED IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO DECLARE AROMAN CHURCH A FOREIGN AGENT ORGANISATION 11.10.2026
Several members of the National Assembly representing the National Party of the Stedorian Revolution (NPLS) have tabled draft legislation taking aim at the Aroman Church in Stedoria. The legislation, titled An Act to Uphold State Security and Secularism from Foreign Religious Undermining, seeks to require Stedorian citizens and foreign nationals living in Stedoria who are members of the Aroman Church to register themselves as acting on behalf of a foreign organisation with the federal Security Force. Failure to do so would make said individuals liable to the offence of “Undermining national wellbeing” under the National Criminal Statute, the maximum penalty of this offence being death. The lawmakers, however, emphasised that the law contains provisions encouraging judicial tribunals to “apply a general and reasonable standard of leniency”.
The legislation’s introduction to the Assembly comes following a sharp deterioration of diplomatic relations between Stedoria and Aromania, culminating in the Stedorian ambassador’s recall after the Aroman Government’s decision to impose sanctions on Cruciastâda and nations it deems “supportive” of Cruciastâda’s defensive military operation in Manamana. Though not directly commented on by the Stedorian Government, the Aroman Government’s decision to militarily reinforce its puppet state on the island of Ceris and in the illegally-occupied city of Bastaria have also been noted by political analysts as important factors that led to the decision to recall the Stedorian ambassador.
Much of the capitalist wurld has reacted furiously to the Cruciastâd defensive military operation in Manamana, owing to the Manamana Canal’s importance to the glubal economy. Indeed, many of these nations are haphazardly and quickly attempting to decrease their reliance on Cruciastâd oil exports. The Stedorian Government has assured its citizens that, in spite of modest increases of fuel prices, Cruciastâd oil and fuel will continue to be exported to Stedoria.
Speaking in the Assembly today, one of the legislation’s drafters, Assemblyman for Infaliy-West Matias Jnäidër defended the draft legislation:
What must be understood with this legislation’s drafting is that it is not an attack on the religious freedoms of Stedorians; we are not banning any religions, and citizens can continue to follow their desired beliefs. Rather, this is about the security of the nation itself. A core aspect of the entire identity of the Aroman Government is its zeal in its religious dogma. The Aroman Church is, by proxy, and extension of the Aroman state itself. It is only natural that a question be asked regarding this: How are we to ensure that citizens who make the choice to follow this belief do not have dual loyalties or, even worse, sole loyalty to a foreign government entirely?
Acknowledging that the passing of this bill would likely only further inflame tensions between Stedoria and Aromania, Jnäidër responded that “national security and independence must be prioritised above all other matters” and “that although Stedoria does not seek for this legislation to be seen as a tit-for-tat measure, the Government must at the same time focus on the internal implications of changing glubal dynamics”. Jnäidër further stated that he had been in contact with several groups of lawmakers from Elbenau, Obereland, and Veldoria, all of whom expressed interest in drafting similar legislation with regard to the Aroman Church.
In spite of the bill’s likely passing, very few citizens are likely to be impacted by the law. The most recent census, held this year, determined that approximately 2% of the Stedorian population adhered to the beliefs of the Aroman Church. There are relatively few Aroman churches within the country, with most being located in Stedoria’s major cities.
Both the Stedorian Democratic Movement and the Radicals - Stedorian Left parties have condemned the draft legislation as “an egregious and unacceptable assault of Stedorians’ entitlement to religious freedom” and have stated that they would co-ordinate with opposition-run state governments to prevent the enforcement of this legislation should it pass.

“End the War” protests in solidarity with the Manamanian people
Written by Yohana-Ileni Kirichati
O’POLIS – Over two months since the Cruciastâda Social Republic launched its unprovoked invasion of the Republic of Manamana, the geopolitical and economic shockwaves continue to reverberate across the glube. Yet, as international shipping routes remain severed and the Assembled Nations debates further interventions, the Beautiful Empire of Orioni is projecting an image of calm resilience, bolstered by strategic foresight and diplomatic manoeuvring.
Domestically, the Orinese public has expressed widespread outrage over the conflict. Over the past few weeks, thousands of citizens have gathered in peaceful protests outside the Cruciastâd embassy in O’polis, waving Manamanian flags and demanding an end to what many are calling a blatant imperialist land-grab masked as a socialist liberation. Civil society groups have been vocal in their condemnation of the false-flag operation that precipitated the invasion.
The government has matched this public sentiment with swift diplomatic action. Last week, Councillor of Foreign Affairs Anna Hackney officially summoned the Cruciastâd ambassador to the Imperial Palace. During the tense meeting, Hackney delivered a formal note of protest, condemning the military aggression and the blockade of the Manamana Canal.
While Orioni has openly supported Assembled Nations Resolution 1406, which calls for comprehensive glubal sanctions against Cruciastâda and its backers, the Kageni administration is taking the initiative a step further. Rather than implementing unilateral economic penalties, Orioni is currently preparing a motion within the Oriental States (OS) to establish a unified, bloc-wide sanctions regime.
“A singular sanction is an inconvenience, but a coordinated embargo from the entire Oriental economic bloc is a severe geopolitical consequence,” a senior official from the Council of Foreign Affairs noted on background. By leveraging the collective economic weight of the OS, Orioni aims to severely restrict Cruciastâda’s access to Oriental markets and financial institutions.
Economically, the glubal fallout from the canal’s closure has been disastrous for many nations, particularly those bracing for the autumn and winter heating seasons with suddenly inflated fuel costs. However, Orioni’s geographic location largely insulates it from such a heating crisis. As a tropical nation, Orioni experiences no seasonal spike in heating demand.
The primary vulnerability for the island nation has always been its reliance on maritime shipping for imports and exports. With glubal freight costs surging due to vessels being forced to circumnavigate Alharu and Aurelia, the Orinese logistics sector braced for a heavy impact.
Councillor of Energy Ihova Myna confirmed that targeted volumes of crude are actively being released to domestic refineries. “We have effectively begun subsidising the fuel costs for our merchant marine fleet and heavy industries,” Myna stated during a press briefing on Tuesday. “The glubal oil market is currently experiencing extreme artificial inflation due to the blockade. Because we possess a large buffer, we don’t have to subject our economy to the whims of foreign aggressors, and both Orinese consumers and businesses are somewhat insulated from these price shocks.”
In a parallel move highlighting international solidarity against the energy squeeze, the Greater Holy Empire of the Aromans recently unveiled its own comprehensive strategy to bypass the reliance on sanctioned oil. In a media bulletin released yesterday, the Government of @Tagmatium_Rulesannounced a robust “Cruciastada-Proofing” initiative aimed at combating the soaring heating and petrol costs currently impacting northern Europa. The Kageni administration was quick to applaud the Occidental power’s sweeping energy reforms, expressing firm support for the Tagmatine initiative during a brief press availability this morning, framing it as a critical blow to the aggressors in Aurelia.

Holy Imperial Government Rolls Out Cruciastada-Proofing Initiative
Aroman Actions Mirror Moves Made by other Nations
October is when it starts to snow in Europatorion, the ancient heart of the Aroman Empire. The capital, founded by St Methodianos, begins to have flurries of snow at that time of year, although northern Aromania, especially Tzankheia, will have seen snow much earlier. This year may well be harsher than many of the others in recent years, although not in terms of weather. It is certainly unlikely to reach the record lows of the winter of EK7528 (AD2020). This time the reason for the harsh winter will be the significant increase in fuel prices that have hit the glube since the invasion of the Republic of Manamana by the @Cruciastada People’s Republic. Although it is to be noted that Aromania gets little oil from the Aurelian nation, its illegal invasion of Manamana has caused the price of oil to rise across the whole of the Eurth. This will ultimately mean that as temperatures drop across northern Europa, the average Aroman will be paying higher heating bills.
In an attempt to counteract the increase in prices, the Holy Imperial Government has announced subsidies for the installation of heat pumps, insulation and more. As it stands, many residential and commercial properties in northern Aromania are well-insulated due to the climate, so it is unknown how much of an impact the subsidisation of more insulation will actually have. Anything that could improve it for both homes and businesses will be no bad thing but it may be too late in the year for many Aromans to truly benefit from these. Nonetheless, anything that helps with rising energy costs will be useful.
The government has also stated that it will eliminate sales tax on electric vehicles completely. Previously, they had been reduced significantly but not removed entirely. This also comes on top of the reduced rate of road tax that owners of electric vehicles pay. That is not to be adjusted within these so-called “ Cruciastada-Proofing” measures. The Holy Imperial Government likely sees the increase in the cost of petrol and diesel as an opportunity to encourage more Aromans to purchase electric vehicles. The rise in costs seem to have been having that effect on their own – towards the end of last year, in July and August, electric vehicles made up around 55% of total new vehicles bought in Aromania, according to the Aroman Motoring Association. However, over the course of August and September, this has risen sharply to around 68% of total new vehicle sales. This is predicted by industry bodies to plateau once fuel prices go down but it could also be the final nail in the coffin for diesel and petrol vehicles in Aromania.
The Holy Imperial Government has also announced that it has given the go-ahead to several new wind farms off of the western coasts of the islands of Efmoseia and Kouttasios in the Hexanesa. Both of these measure some 70 km2, making them some of the largest in Europa. Construction on these is unlikely to begin before February due to the winter weather. Preliminary work may start but it will be several years before these new wind farms begin to generate any power. The Holy Imperial Government was very likely to give these new sites the go-ahead but the conflict in Manamana spurred the government into action. The construction will be the latest in the considerable amount of infrastructure investment that the Aroman government has put into the Hexanesa, which was part of the agreement that saw the islands relinquish their claims to being an independent state.
Unlike other nations, such as the Republic of @Ionio, Aromania has not stated that it will neither increase fossil fuel extraction nor attempt any more exploration. The reserves that the Greater Holy Empire possesses are nowhere near those of other nations and its ban on other Europan nations attempting extraction and exploration in its exclusive economic zone remains in place. This same ban – although an expulsion aimed at the Supreme Despotate of Eidolmanta – drove a wedge between Aromania and the Sceptred Confederation of @Gaellicia when it was put into place.
It is imagined that the Holy Imperial Government knows what it is doing and the actions it is taking will help alleviate the rise in energy costs for the Aroman population. Faith in both God and Holy Emperor Filippos as the representative of God on Eurth will be the main reason why Aromania gets through this current crisis but the actions taken by the Holy Imperial Government will also play a large role.
Imperial Army Brigade to be Deployed to Bastaria
Chaos Reigns in the Stedorian Puppets
After few signs of action on the state of central Argis for several months, the Ministry for War has announced that it will be dispatching the 109thKatafraktos Allagion (109th Heavy Armoured Brigade Combat Team) to Bastaria, to join the units from the Republic of @Pentium and the Confederacy of @Poja. These forces make up the ATLAS force in Bastaria and protect the city and its hinterland from the looming threat of absorption into the possessions of Stedorian People’s Republic. The allagion consists of over 4,700 men and women of the Palatinoi and over 300 armoured vehicles, including 87 Tauros main battle tanks. The allagion itself is a veteran formation, having fought in both the Sentist War and the invasion of Suverina during the Anglian War. If the forces of the @Stedoria attempted to invade, the 109th would defend Bastaria as only a veteran Aroman formation could.
The strengthening of the ATLAS forces in Bastaria will prevent any schemes that the Stedorians have of invading and taking the city from happening. Stedoria appears to intent on reducing its people to a state worse than when it was part of the corrupt, oppressive state of Velaheria. The Stedorians and their puppets covet the city itself, as it would show to the wurld that they are the successors to what little legitimacy that Velaheria had.
And this legitimacy does appear to be fraying. One of the Stedorian puppet states, Veldoria, appears to be undergoing a civil war. This is undoubtedly because the Stedorians, in a bizarre move, put one of the Starinburg brood in charge of the country. And that poisoned apple does not fall far from the rotten tree. Viktor Starinburg has managed to drag another country – albeit one cobbled together from the ruins of a shattered Velaheria – down into the mire with them. The poor Velaherians will only be freed when God wipes all of their former leadership from the wurld and puts the Stedorians back in their place.
The more the Stedorians tighten their grip, the more their possessions slip through their fingers. Their political naivete was recently demonstrated by their protest against the sanctions put against the Greater Holy Empire when they withdrew their Ambassador to the White Throne Room. The complaint put forward to the Holy Imperial Government was that the sanctions against the Cruciastad heretics would hurt the citizens of that God forsaken nation – precisely the reason why sanctions are put in place in the first place.
The Holy Imperial Government was keen to distance itself from the idea that the deployment of the brigade was in any way due to diplomatic break between Aromania and Stedoria.
“The deployment of the 109thKatafraktos Allagion to Bastaria is part of a previous agreement with the other members of ATLAS,” said a spokesperson from the Ministry for War. “This has been discussed at the highest level of ATLAS since May, prior to the Cruciastad invasion of Manamana, the Stedorian puppet nations falling into civil war and the withdrawal of the Stedorian ambassador to Aromania.”
Although it is unknown as yet as to how the Stedorian government will react to the reinforcement of the ATLAS forces in Bastaria. The deployment of a squadron of Gryps strategic bombers to the Noble Republic of Secryae in June appeared to go unmentioned by Stedoria or any other Argic nation. The Holy Imperial Government was concerned that the bombers would cause tensions in the region to rise, especially since many Argic nations, such as Dolchland, have perceived Aroman activity to be either a threat, imperialism or a threat of imperialism. Tensions in central Argis are running at an all time high, especially after the deployment of roughly forty thousand Cruciastad soldiers to reinforce the Socialist Commonwealth of Welkija. This could well suggest that the actions of the heretic, socialist dictatorship are due to a concerted plan to damage the rest of the wurld.
With the arrival of the 109thKatafraktos Allagion, the position of the forces of freedom in Argis have been significantly strengthened. Both Bastaria and Secryae remain as bastions as the hordes of godless socialism begin to wash over the continent again. Still, it is unlikely that those same hordes will try anything, as they will certainly lose if they attempt anything.

The Monthly Journal of Global Affairs
Month in Review
How did the world change over the last thirty days?
Jarring fractures of regional stability have defined the month of September, as the unprovoked military intervention in the Republic of Manamana by Cruciastada has sent shockwaves through the halls of international diplomacy. This aggression has not merely disrupted the sovereign borders of a neighboring state; it has fundamentally challenged the efficacy of established multilateral institutions, forcing members of the Aurelian League to confront the uncomfortable reality that a fellow signatory has become an antagonist to the peace they swore to uphold.
As the conflict deepened, the geopolitical atmosphere shifted from cautious concern to urgent, confrontational rhetoric. The emergence of what some leaders have termed an “axis of evil” signifies a hardening of international alignments, where economic sanctions and the rhetoric of global security have become the primary instruments of statecraft. As we move into the final quarter of the year, the stability of the West Argic region and the institutional integrity of the Aurelian League remain the central pivots upon which the future of Eurthian diplomacy rests.

Milestones
Who rose to power, who fell from grace, and what history was written in ink?
RATIFIED: The West Argic Security Pact (WASP), an initiative cementing decades of cooperation and shared defense between Erisoria, Charkov, and Garindina was officially signed in Kovchi.
IMPOSED: The Federal Republic of Ionio led a push for rigorous economic and social sanctions against the aggressors in the Manamana conflict, detailed in Resolution 1406.
Unpacking the background, the actors, and the global fallout of the month’s defining story.
The invasion of the Republic of Manamana stands as the singular most destabilizing event of the current era. What was intended to be a period of consolidation for the Aurelian League has instead become a crucible of crisis. The decision by Cruciastada to launch an unauthorized military intervention into Manamana represents a profound betrayal of the post-war order, directly violating the principles of non-aggression that have governed the region for years.
The geopolitical fallout has been swift and unforgiving. By turning the battlefield into the primary venue for dispute resolution, Cruciastada has forced the hands of member states to defend the charter they signed. Representatives, such as those from Cherkessk, have rightly noted that the tolerance of such actions would render their collective legal frameworks meaningless, effectively signaling an end to the era of diplomatic primacy if the aggression is allowed to stand without consequence.
The long-term consequences are beginning to materialize in the form of economic isolation and the formalization of new security blocs. As the Federal Republic of Ionio spearheads the campaign for sanctions, the world watches to see if these measures can throttle the logistical and economic capacity of the aggressor, or if they will merely accelerate the drift toward a protracted, multi-front continental conflict.
Column: Movers & Shakers
Who were the three individuals that single-handedly altered the geopolitical landscape this month?
1. Maurizio Perrone, Federal Republic of Ionio
Perrone has emerged as the principal architect of the international response to the Manamana crisis, framing the conflict as a moral and economic imperative for the global community. His fierce advocacy for Resolution 1406 on the floor of the Assembled Nations serves as a blueprint for the current containment strategy against the aggressor.
2. John Colucci, Ionio
As President, Colucci has navigated the delicate position of the Ionian state within the Aurelian League, explicitly questioning the legitimacy of a member state’s breach of peace. His formal motion during the emergency session to expel Cruciastada from the league defined the gravity of the situation for all stakeholders.
3. Setenay L’imaf, Representative of Cherkessk
L’imaf has become the voice of institutional preservation, delivering a stern warning regarding the existential threat posed by the Manamana invasion. Her intervention as recorded in the parliamentary archives emphasized that the survival of international law is tied directly to the collective refusal to accept unilateral battlefield changes.
The Monthly Measure
What do the raw numbers tell us about the hidden currents of global statecraft?
A comprehensive breakdown of the stories shaping our world.
Politics & Statecraft
The legislative landscape was deeply disrupted by the crisis in Manamana, causing immediate domestic friction. In Centennia Cardina, the government’s silence regarding Resolution 1405 sparked massive unrest; at the University of Gwen, over 600 protesting students clashed violently, resulting in hospitalizations and mounting political pressure on the President. Meanwhile, the Aurelian League is processing a surge in diplomatic realignments, receiving full membership applications from the Kízinápe Sintezan Socialist Republics and observer requests from Sunseong and the Greater Holy Empire.
In Erisoria, a historic political transition is underway. Following record voter turnout, Sena Varduk of the Toilers’ Front ousted incumbent Helryc Davreen, promising a dramatic state-directed economic overhaul. In Bamraland, the new coalition government under Prime Minister Le Bann Myo formally launched the “War on Poverty and Division,” tapping former architect Kau Zyaw to lead sweeping urban infrastructure reforms.
Defense & Security
In the West Argic theater, security policy has taken a defining turn toward collective defense. Leaders from Erisoria, Charkov, and Garindina met in Kovchi to formally sign the West Argic Security Pact (WASP), cementing decades of cooperation into a binding military deterrent. The Konfederacija Poja signaled its own military buildup, deploying the 88th Missile Brigade to bolster its ballistic deterrent while advancing procurement talks for a new aircraft carrier.
The closure of the Manamana Canal triggered extreme volatility in global energy markets. In Mikochi, oil prices nearly doubled to 73 AD$ per barrel, prompting the government to enact a temporary 25% rail price cut and 50% bus subsidy to offset the crisis. In contrast, Orioni absorbed the logistical shock through its massive 30-million-cubic-meter Strategic Petroleum Reserves, with Chairman Edric Kageni preparing targeted releases to shield domestic refineries.
Macro-infrastructure projects advanced despite the tense climate. Cherkessk reported major excavation progress on the multi-billion-dollar Xapsiğ Canal project, while at the Assembled Nations, delegates tabled a proposal for the International Atomic, Energy, and Sustainability Agency (IAESA) to regulate nuclear and green power worldwide. Furthermore, Kabuto Holdings struck a strategic partnership with the Agricultural Bank of Baltica to modernize the nation’s farming sector with discounted heavy machinery.
Soft Power & Society
Public health and historical accountability generated significant domestic discourse. The Megumi General Hospital in Umikyo was forced into partial quarantine following a confirmed outbreak of MRSA, triggering a rapid containment response by administrators.
In Erisoria, state transparency took a major step forward as the government declassified historical files from the Koish Operational Oversight Commission, revealing the grim mid-century efforts to develop and integrate chemical weapons. Meanwhile, the serialized cultural exploration of the Jameson County Murders expanded, documenting the deeper Anglian historical footprint in the region.
Sports
The Elite Fighting Arena (EFA) launched a highly anticipated wave of global competition. Standout bouts in the latest circuit included a dominant third-round knockout by Khusanov over Liinala, showcasing the expanding international talent pool entering the professional combat sports league.
The Watchlist: October
What lingering crises and unresolved threats will command our attention in the weeks ahead?
The Manamana Conflict
The ongoing military occupation by Cruciastada remains the primary geopolitical risk to continental peace. Observers will be monitoring the implementation of sanctions to see if they force a withdrawal or trigger further aggressive posturing from the belligerent party, tracked via the Ionian sanctions registry.
The Integrity of the Aurelian League
The credibility of the Aurelian League is at a breaking point as it deals with a rogue member state. The upcoming sessions will determine if the organization can evolve to expel the aggressor or if it will collapse under the weight of its own paralyzed diplomatic protocols.
The Erisorian Nuclear Question
Following her decisive electoral victory, President-elect Sena Varduk signaled a radical shift in defense policy, specifically outlining plans to reactivate the nation’s dormant nuclear weapons program. Global defense analysts will be watching closely to see if this promise triggers a regional arms race.
VESKRALINA ANNOUNCES COMPRESSIVE SANCTIONS ON CRUCIASTÂDA
06/08/2026
Raisa: “Good afternoon everyone. A massive escalation has occurred today in the Manamana Crisis as the Veskralina has announced comprehensive sanctions on @Cruciastada.”
Igor: “That’s right Raisa. Following the failure of AN Resolution 1406, the government has decided to act alone and impose comprehensive sanctions against Cruciastâda. The measures announced this morning include a complete trade embargo, restrictions on financial transactions, and restrictions on travel.”
Raisa: “The government is also imposing restrictions on companies that continue conducting major business in Cruciastâd Social Republic. Including secondary sanctions targeting foreign entities that attempt to circumvent the measures.”
Igor: “The government has described these measures as the most extensive economic pressure ever imposed on Cruciastâda. Government officials say the objective is to inspire like minded states to do the same and force the Cruciastâd to end its invasion of Manamana.”
Raisa: “Cruciastâda has already condemned the announcement, accusing Garindina of attempting to economically isolate the country. Its foreign minister has already warned that their government will respond to what it calls ‘an act of economic aggression.’”

Protesters Clash in the Midst of Resolution 1405
Ethan R. Sutherlain · Posted: 2 August 2026, 15:39 UTC+2 · Updated: 18 seconds ago [Wur: Politics]
In mere moments, Resolution 1405 was passed, allowing Pentium to enter the Manamana conflict and halt Cruciastada’s quoted “insurgency”. Since then, protests against Resolution 1405 have spread throughout Central Centennia Cardina, spawning through university campuses and down city streets (further information below).
Resolution 1405 was introduced just hours ago in Anbrekport and passed with a 55% favour rating and only 24% opposed. Amongst the opposing nations was Centennia Cardina. Though the Centennian representative remained silent, many people have identified an economic trend among other opposing nations, which included @Charkov, @Verraine, @Marchyydion, @Welkija, @Stedoria and, of course, Cruciastada. Ambassador Keiran Vossic of Pentium had even stated: "Today I fear that we have seen the drawing of an unmistakable line today. One that has placed us at odds with the fellow nations of the wurld that choose a different system of governance and economics."
Political analysts described Vossic’s speech as a “passive-aggressive insult towards the sovereignty” of those who shared different views on why they voted against Resolution 1405. Marchydd Ambassador Ap Uthyr highlighted the similarities between Cruciastada’s fight for Tetlacatian and Pentium’s ongoing military operation in the Krause Islands, where they’ve provided heavy assistance to @Poja. Marchyydion has staunchly supported Tetlacatian’s freedom alongside other vocal nations, namely those aligned with more socialist policies. That’s where the conflict in Centennia Cardina comes to light.
Since Cruciastada first called for action against Manamana and its quoted “oppression of Tetlacatian and its people,” the political divide between Centennians has been exacerbated. Thousands of people have voiced support for Cruciastada and Tetlacatian on social media and in public protests, while thousands of others have taken a more neutral stance or outright denounced Cruciastada’s actions. Socialist and Communist spokespersons have expressed serious focus on the historic oppression of the Tetlacatian people and how it compares to the long-standing oppression of the Sarne tribes in Centennia Cardina. Tribe Chiefs have vouched for humanitarian aid to be delivered from reservations to the Manamana Canal, where provisions can boost support for the people and Cruciastada’s army. The government has continued to shut down these requests.
Cruciastada supporters have noted hypocrisy in Centennia Cardina’s stance; while they voted against the resolution, the government’s willing silence has drawn criticism. About a month ago, the OS held its 21st Summit, where Centennian delegate Charles Pikk expressed the country’s passionate motive to free the Sunset Sea Islands from the current militaristic regime. Some have likened SSI’s tyranny to that of Manamana, believing Centennia Cardina is not playing a big enough role in Tetlacatian’s freedom despite supporting it.
Manamana, a nation of Aurelia, was invited to join President Chloe Vossinger’s newly established ADISI Organization as a founding member, alongside oceanic neighbours such as @Denawar and @Suminto. Manamana’s silence has been interpreted as refusal, fueling the support for Cruciastada and Tetlacatian, as analyst Barbara Sentmuhk has put it, “if they don’t support intersecting relations for positive growth between its neighbours and us, how can we trust that they can ensure healthy development within their own country? With their own native populations?”
As protests continue through the nation, some have been identified as mass movements of highly dangerous activity. Rhododendron’s University of Gwen has been reported as a hotspot for this activity, where an estimated 300 students walked out of class to protest in the school’s front courtyard. The protest started peacefully with light police intervention, but soon grew violent as pro-resolution protesters moved in and took their own territory, combating the voices of the anti-resolution protesters. Both sides swelled to nearly 600 people each. After significant back-and-forth, multiple fights broke out between protesters, with no clear indication of which side started it. Fights are ongoing, and police have taken to quelling the demonstration. Physical intimidation and detainment (pictured above) are being used to discourage fighting, which has resulted in two students being picked up by ambulance and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
CBA On-Scene was able to interview a couple of students from each side before fights broke out, and police ushered our reporter, Trent Scanlainn and his crew away.
Leo Katherine, anti-resolution, had this to say when asked why he was protesting: “It’s the human rights. Manamana has been oppressing the Tetlacatian people for years; I don’t understand why it took this long for anyone to stand up and say anything. Tetlacatian deserves its own independence, its own regulations, and its own nationally recognized culture. And the best way for them to gain that, sort of, freedom and whatever, is to pursue it with a socialist identity. If Cruciastada can get in there and intervene without bloodshed, then that’s just another population being saved from centuries of intergenerational trauma and systemic disadvantages. You see it here every day. I’m a political science major—I study this stuff. You don’t gain rights by being patient and asking nicely; sometimes you need to revolt. How else would we have gotten equal rights? Equity pay? Dude, we gained the right to spirituality through uprising. I’m not religious, and I support it, so why should I look the other way when native Aurelians—our historic brothers and sisters—are being buried alive?”
A pro-resolution protester who wishes to remain anonymous, said this in response to the same question: “Oppression or not, you don’t put guns over a border and tell everyone to start firing. Resolution 1405 ensures civility comes first, preventing any loss of life that Cruciastada is willing to risk. And quite recklessly, mind you. What this is is an attack on the wurld economy; Cruciastada wants to secure that Canal for themselves. If they control it, they control imports for the entire globe. I’ve heard that theory a lot, and it makes sense, especially given their background. I refuse to speak on my political background, but I don’t hate Cruc; I just see it as it is. If you truly believe in the freedom of a people or a nation, this is not how you go about it. This military action… this is exactly what you do when you want to stage a revolt and then swoop in and claim power when both sides are exhausted. I wonder where we’ve seen that before.”
Evidently, politics in Centennia Cardina sharply contrast between supporting the newly passed resolution and opposing it. Many call on the President to acknowledge the conflict and take a stance, including the ever-growing impatience of neighbouring nations of Kiteton and Marenesia.
The CBA will continue to monitor for updates in homeland conflicts and update accordingly.

Oil Prices Increase by Almost Double as Manamana Canal Remains Shut
A month since the conflict began, the Manamana Canal remains closed, as Cruciastad ships block the eastern entrance to the canal, forcing hundereds of ships to take alternate routes through the Keelpjip, or around the southern tip of the Aurelian continent.
The conflict has seen the price per barrel of oil almost double, rising from 49 AD$ up to 73 AD$, which has not only hit Mikochinese businesses that rely on oil for manufacturing, but also the average citizen, where prices at the pump are at their highest in Mikochi.
Prior to the invasion, 70% of Mikochi’s oil was imported through the Manamana Canal. Out of the 500,000 barrels imported per day it total, Mikochi has lost around 100,00 barrels that was previously imported from Cruciastada, and a further 50,000 from Manamana itself, leaving the nation with a 150,00bbl deficit.
The government has urged businesses and citizens to reduce unneccassary energy usage where possible, with the introduction of a temporary 25% price cut on Commonwealth Rail services, and a 50% subsidy on bus fares, in an attempt to cut the oil used by single occupancy vehicles.
As the war in the canal heads into it’s second month, the problem of oil security remains a top priority for the nation to address.
22/09/2026 Clan Ambush leaves 1 dead and 1 critical amidst Rising clan Attacks
Members of one of the clans ambushed a routine military patrol in the Zirmov Oblast yesterday morning. The patrol is done routinely along a mountain pass 12 kilometers outside of the town of Ruton, which is known for there being a clan presence in the area. A representative from the military confirmed that whilst the particular route of this patrol has never seen a confrontation between the military and any of the clans, nearby ones have seen several encounters in the last few years. The purpose of these patrols are to ensure the clans cannot get ahold of any vital roadways that could allow them to increase their influence in the region, as they have done in the past further West from the site of the attack.
According to the military at approximately 06:48 the patrol vehicle turned a corner on the road and was distracted by the sight of a person standing in the center of the road about 200m ahead. They did not notice a landmine had been planted on the road in front of them until they struck it, at which point the driver and passenger in the front of the vehicle were severely injured. The 2 passengers in the back had only received minor injuries and were able to escape the vehicle and drag their compatriots out of the front and behind the damaged vehicle.
All whilst under gunfire from the clan ambush that had begun to attack after the landmine was detonated, they requested assistance and evacuation from nearby units and returned fire. During the firefight, the injured driver also began to return fire despite his injuries and only stopped after being shot in the shoulder. He tragically passed shortly after before being able to be evacuated.
After about 20 minutes, a patrol vehicle armed with a machine gun arrived and provided suppressing fire to drive the ambush away. Further units arrived and the surviving targets of the ambush were evacuated. At this time the front passenger is being treated at hospital but in critical condition.
4 of the ambushers were injured during the firefight, and abandoned by their compatriots when they fled. 2 of them died enroute to the hospital and the other 2 are expected to recover and be prosecuted.
This attack is not a single event however, as it is a part of a disturbing trend. 2025 was the first year since recording started in 2015 of clan attacks on both civilian and military targets in Charkov, where a decline from the previous year was not recorded. There was a large increase, and the increase this year is projected to be even larger.
If this trend continues, we could see large scale attacks return not just in the South East, but across the entire country. The military has said they will be expanding their nearby bases capacity so that patrols can be larger and safer for their soldiers, and to deter future attacks.

Toilers’ Front’s Sena Varduk has been proclaimed as the new president of the Erisorian Federation in a narrow lead over outgoing President Helryc Davreen, whose bid for a third term comes to an end.
Varduk promises to strengthen the economy by addressing longstanding issues and diversifying the country’s industrial base. She also pledged a ‘more welcoming’ environment for international investors through a state-directed market model. She has also pledged to reverse several laws she deems “too authoritarian.” However, she remains aligned with Davreen’s vision for boosting national defense capabilities as she sought to increase defense spending.
Her inauguration is set in a few weeks as the government now prepares for formal transitioning of power. Varduk is also set to choose her prime minister, but says she has no definitive candidate yet.

THE XAPSIĞ CANAL STARTS TO TAKE SHAPE: CHERKESSK SHOWCASES PROGRESS ON BILLION-DOLLAR PROJECT
Large-scale excavation work is revealing a gigantic dry canal bed between the Lakshesjs and Ilakau rivers as engineers prepare the foundations for the multi-billion-dollar project. It’s been one year since the canal project began, and we can already see a lot of changes. Right now, they’re hard at work digging the canal, which is estimated to take another good 3 to 4 years. The biggest engineering challenge will be the lock complex; this will be one of the greatest modern engineering marvels ever, one that no one has ever seen before. We are certainly very busy with these locks right now, and the work will continue for a long time to come.
Meanwhile, on the Lakshesjs River side, they’re already very busy with the water pumping stations and the power supply for these large pumps. One of our journalists on site, Setenay Tsey, adds:
“Most of the work is taking place here on the Lakshesjs side; this is mainly due to the large lock complexes that will soon be built here, for which preparations are already underway. So you can already see several major companies setting up shop here, such as the Aromanian construction machinery company IKV, or Fujimoto Industries, which comes all the way from Mikochi. We’ve got some more aromanian companies, such as Boukkouleios and Niketas Logistics. They’re all working very closely with organizations from Cherkessk on this immense project.”
On the Ilakau side, things are already a bit less intense and crowded with businesses, although we do see Cairnhold Industrial Technologies from Pentium, which focuses primarily on the workers themselves, but also on supplying technology for digging the canal, a project that’s currently in full swing. On this side, they’re mainly focused on the digging, and there isn’t too much time pressure involved here.
Of course, the XCA must not forget to remain environmentally friendly, this is very important, as we certainly don’t want to harm the beautiful ecosystem in the Xapsig mountains. That’s why they’re also installing bubble screens here before the Ilakau side is opened up, so that marine animals don’t have to fear the massive vibrations that could be caused by these machines. Before construction began, a biological survey of the area was conducted, which allowed them to relocate several animals in advance without damaging the local ecosystems.
Yet we still hear some complaints about the protection of these animals; here we speak with ecologist Jonathan E. Mitchell: “Relocating animals and installing bubble curtain sounds good in press releases, but it’s just a band-aid solution. A complex mountain ecosystem can’t simply be moved to another location like a box of clothes. By carving a 124-kilometer-deep dry trench through the landscape, we are mercilessly cutting off centuries-old migration routes used by local wildlife. Moreover, the constant vibrations and dust pollution are driving animals deeper into the mountains, where the habitat simply cannot support such large populations."
Progress at the construction site is going well, but the reactions from animal lovers are still very strong. How will this play out?
PARLIAMENT APPROVES THE WARP SPEED INITIATIVE FOR ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
President John Colucci Announces Operation Warp Speed
Following a debate and with unanimous approval, Parliament approved Operation Warp Speed.
In a press conference following Parliament’s approval, President John Colucci announced that Operation Warp Speed arose from the need to respond to a senseless war started by Cruciastada, which invaded Manamana.
The plan gives oil companies the green light to increase crude oil production and also includes the development of 2P and 3P reserves to provide relief to the global oil market, which has been in turmoil since the start of the war.
The operation also includes a comprehensive update to building codes, making the installation of photovoltaic panels, storage systems, heat pumps, and low-enthalpy geothermal systems mandatory to reduce buildings’ energy consumption, as well as retrofitting existing buildings to improve energy efficiency. These new rules will take effect as early as October, meaning that new buildings designed starting in October must comply with the new federal building code. This measure requires that new buildings achieve an energy efficiency class of A, which is the highest energy efficiency rating. The building code package also includes a funding program for the energy efficiency of historic buildings; if renovation work cannot be carried out, the historic building will be demolished and rebuilt in accordance with its original design but improved to meet new building codes.
The industry will also undergo changes with the new package of incentives and tax breaks for all industries that wish to establish manufacturing facilities for photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, and energy storage systems. The government’s goal is to promote international competition and the creation of new manufacturing companies. The already liberalized energy sector has also been affected by the introduction of tax breaks for new energy production companies that wish to enter the federal electricity market by producing and selling electricity exclusively from renewable sources. The package also includes a phase-out of electricity production from oil and natural gas, set for 2045, while the phase-out of coal remains set for 2030.
The transportation sector is also affected, with a push toward the electrification of road transport, where the adoption of electric systems is still limited. The package includes tax incentives for automakers that produce electric vehicles. No measures are planned for rail transport, as rail companies are already taking steps to replace their train fleets with modern, efficient trains.
President John Colucci pointed out that Operation Warp Speed will initially involve an increase in public spending, but within three years of the operation’s launch, public expenditures will gradually be offset by revenue thanks to the resulting industrial stimulus and the new infrastructure projects the government is about to approve to improve federal and state infrastructure. The president emphasized that stimulating industrial demand instead of creating parasitic aid, as traditional left-wing governments do, allows us to improve not only industrial competitiveness but also to achieve a general increase in social well-being.

Government poised to approve new gasfield exploration
First Published: 17:00 14 September 2026
Last Updated: 21:39 15 September 2026
Prif Wenidog Seren ap Cadwalader appears to soften on previous environmental promises, suggesting a more pragmatic approach to Marchyydion’s oil and gas industries.
Ap Cadwalader stated in a interview to RNM that, “Although we are fortunate that the current overseas conflicts aren’t threatening our supply, we will still start to feel the effects at home due to fluctuations in the glubal markets, we need to move to build up a strategic stockpile so that we may weather any potential future storms.”
Ministers are cited as being set to approve the exploration of controversial new gasfields in the sub-Argic regions by the end of the week. This is on top of announcements from last week of the reopening of formerly closed sites.
Critics argue that these investments should be funnelled towards furthering Marchyydion’s net-zero commitments, claiming more drilling would be unprincipled for the nation. Many claim that we are already suffering the consequences of glubal warming, and these further developments will only hamper our efforts in combating it.
A Natur yw ein un ni spokesperson: “Transitioning sooner to greener technologies would be a more effective method of securing our energy security. This move doesn’t strengthen us, it only weakens the future of the next generation.” They went on to say the direct environmental impact the drilling and fracking will have on the immediate local tundra alone is enough reason why this policy shift is ill-addvised.
Spokesperson for the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects: “The Brynellyllon gasfields remain a vital national asset, they will continue to support jobs, bolster economic growth, and strengthen Marchyydion’s energy security. Oil and gas will continue to play a role in safeguarding jobs as we transition to net-zero. Sadly, we won’t be in a position where we are able to halt our use of oil and gas for some time, that’s why we must move to accelerate our extraction so we can pay for the acceleration of getting to such a position.”
The government hopes that if approval is made on thursday, that the new sites will be in a position to start supplying Marchydd homes with gas as early as this winter. Government officials also claim that if approved, any profits made by these sites will be allocated towards the further development of clean energy infrastructure.
DNC CEO Marc Mostyn told us: “Domestic gas extraction creates fewer overall emissions than importing LNG from other countries. We are still going to use gas in our homes, so it might as well be gas from Marchyydion where we can guarantee we are doing everything possible to mitigate emissions.”
Mr ap Cadwalader claims this exploration will be ‘merely transitional’ to comfortably see the nation through the move to true net-zero, “any decision we come to will be informed by all the relevant scientific and economic evidence, as well as public opinion as always.”

AI debate explodes on the 2nd day of the Annual Customer Service Forum.
By Ryan Salcedo
Published on September 3, 2026; 7:20 P.M.
Cavult Metropolis — The Customer Service Forum, an annual forum held by the country’s finest and elegant hospitality giants, whose forum was to present ideas and proposals in providing better services and quality within Flaca Vul’s growing tourism and services industry.
Were suddenly met by a sudden and fierce opposition by newly-emerging companies who’re taking advantage of the burgeoning artificial intelligence presence. Arguing that streamlining, providing efficient and better execution of services through artificial intelligence was the future of the services industry.
Led by Morren Malgado, Director for Internal Marketing of the Newon Travel Agency, whom spearheaded the Q&A portion on the forum’s 2nd day. He argued that businesses should prioritize the efficiency of bookings and lowering the customer’s wait time. His iconic statement is remembered as quote:
“Relying on humans, wasting capital on unnecessary workers who don’t even like their job. Maintaining that status quo is worse than the change we’re proposing. With AI, nobody hates their jobs, nobody forces themselves to listen to uncontrolled yelling on the phone for a follow-up, nobody yells at a CS representative who later cries in the bathroom.” He continued. “With AI, everything is better, faster, and cheaper! Just one click and it’s finished. Then, if there’s anything wrong with the booking, scheduling, or anything manually inputed. Then, it’s entirely the fault of the human who, most probably, failed to do proper diligence when finalizing their order.”
With his statements, it was undeniable that many were seriously considering the proposal. However, Odio Pranzes, Chairman of the hospitality giant, Pranzes-Harrison, highly opposed the greenhorn’s statements with a simple fact.
“I don’t wanna speak to a cold-hearted machine.” He quipped. “I’m here for a vacation, with my wife, children, friends and acquaintances. I want it to be perfect. I wanna go to the hotel, resort, or whatever. With people who’ll provide me assistance, support my luggage, assist my family, guide us with the itinerary and offerings of the place.”
He added. “I wanna be greeted by a smile. Welcome to this and that, are you enjoying your stay, how can we improve your experience, we’re here to help.”
Unlike Malgado’s argument who primarily focused on prioritizing the streamlining and efficient execution of services. Chairman Odio Pranzes, focused on speaking from the heart and the rightful experience one should expect from an industry called: Hospitality.
“The moment I speak to a machine. That’s no longer hospitality. That’s consideration… and I will not settle for anything less than real hospitality.”
With three days remaining for this year’s annual customer services forum, the pressure of this newfound atmosphere has become intense. With historical giants such as Pranzes-Harrisson, Meredia, HotelSix-Nine pitting against entrants such as Newon Travels, Malaki Resorts, Stay-in-Break.
One could only predict so much as to what the future of the country’s hospitality and tourism industry has in store.

Megumi General Hospital remains open, with hospital officials reassuring that the rest of the facility remains open and safe.
Hello and welcome to todays edition of ‘Ahrana Today’ where we bring the news of the wurld and of home to you, the viewer wherever you may be.
To today’s edition: The Ahranaian Government issues its official condemnation against @Cruciastada and its allies, the Ahranaian Patriarch formally makes a public statement of condemnation of the Cruciastada Government and its Orthodox Church, the new governments official statement on the outgoing governments Annual plan, and much more here on ‘Ahrana Today’.
The Ahranaian Government under the guise of the Chancellor Kjerstin Heskin. In this official condemnation the Ahranaian Parliament has also passed an act making the sanctions official and wide spread. The official condemnation from the Chancellor reads as follows:
Good morning,
The Confederation of the United Kingdoms of Ahrana condemns the invasion of the Republic of Manamana by the Cruciastâda Social Republic.
On 19 August, Cruciastâdan forces crossed an internationally recognised frontier without declaration and without provocation. This is a war of aggression. The Government of the Cruciastâda Social Republic bears sole responsibility for it.
The Parliament of the Confederation adopted Joint Resolution No. JR-2026-04 condemning the invasion, by 190 votes to 45 in the Assembly of Representatives and 118 to 29 in the National Council. This morning I signed Federal Executive Decree No. ED-2026-017, with the assent of Her Majesty the Monarch, imposing comprehensive sanctions.
Ahrana has closed its trade with the Cruciastâda Social Republic, banned its energy exports into the Confederation, frozen the assets of its state, its central bank and its officials, cut its banks out of settlement in the Krone, and closed our airspace, ports and waters to its aircraft and vessels. An arms and dual-use embargo takes effect immediately. Our Ambassador is recalled and theirs is expelled.
Ahrana will not recognise any border altered by force, or any annexation of Manamanan territory, at any time.
These measures are directed at a government and at those who profit from what it has done. They are not directed at the Cruciastâdan people. Food, medicine and humanitarian relief are exempt.
They will be lifted when the shooting stops, the forces withdraw, the prisoners and deported children come home, and the investigators are let in. Not before.
Thank you for your time.
The Ahranaian Patriarch of the Ahranaian Orthodox Church, a figure who is seen as the stabilising figure in the Western Hemisphere of Orthodoxy Wurldwide, has also release a formal public condemnation against the Cruciastâda Government and the Cruciastâda Orthodox Church:
Karl Lugas Johansson, by the mercy of God Archbishop of Peterburi, Metropolitan of Moskovo, and Patriarch of All Ahrana: To the Most Reverend Metropolitans, Archbishops and Bishops, to the Priests and Deacons, to the Monastics of our holy houses, and to all the faithful children of this Patriarchate, grace and peace. On the war.
On the nineteenth day of August the armies of the Cruciastâda Social Republic entered the Republic of Manamana. Towns have been shelled. Relief has been turned back at the roads. Families have been carried out of their homes to places they did not choose, and among them children have been taken from their parents.
We name this what it is. It is not policy. It is sin, and it is the shedding of innocent blood, and no reason of state washes it. The commandment given at Sinai has no clause exempting governments. Those who ordered this war stand under judgement, and no border they redraw will follow them past the grave. On the Church of Cruciastâda.
It is a heavier thing to say what must now be said to brothers.
We have heard the hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Cruciastâda bless the weapons of this invasion. We have heard the war called holy from the ambo. We have heard soldiers told that death in this campaign remits their sins. We say to our brothers in Cruciastâda, in sorrow and without pleasure: you have taken the Cross, which is the sign of a God who refused to defend Himself by killing, and you have hung it on an artillery piece.
The teaching that an aggressive war sanctifies those who wage it is not a difference of custom between sister churches. It is an error touching the Cross itself, and we reject it. A shepherd who blesses the destruction of a neighbouring flock has ceased to shepherd and has become a chaplain to the state that pays him. Therefore, by our authority as Patriarch, and having taken counsel with the Holy Synod, we decree: First, that the name of the Patriarch of Cruciastâda be struck from the diptychs and shall not be commemorated at any Divine Liturgy served within this Patriarchate, from this day, until he repents publicly of the blessing he has given. Second, that no hierarch, priest, or deacon of this Church shall concelebrate with any hierarch or clergyman of the Church of Cruciastâda who has blessed this war or has kept silence in the face of it. Third, that our representatives be withdrawn from every joint commission and dialogue with that Church, and that we hereby summon the primates of the Argic Orthodox Communion to an extraordinary Synod, that the Communion may judge together whether the sanctification of aggressive war can be borne within it. This Church has been autonomous since the Council of Raiko in the year 842, and we speak here on our own authority and not on the authority of any government. Fourth, and let this be read plainly in every parish so that none mistakes it: we have not closed the chalice to the ordinary faithful of Cruciastâda. They did not order this war. Any Cruciastâdan Orthodox Christian who comes to our churches is to be received, confessed, communed, buried, and consoled as our own. Any priest of that Church who has refused to bless these weapons and is in danger for refusing may come to us and will be received with honour. On what we now do.
Every monastery and every parish of this Patriarchate is to open its doors to those fleeing Manamana, and to give them bread, a bed, and the dignity of not being asked to explain themselves. A relief fund is opened at Peterburi this day and every diocese is to contribute.
We call the faithful to a fast on the Wednesday and Friday of each week until the guns are silent, and we direct that at every Liturgy the petition for the peace of the whole wurld be offered aloud with Manamana named in it.
Pray for the dead of both nations. Pray for the deported children by name if you know them. Pray also for the soldiers of Cruciastâda, who are for the most part somebody’s frightened sons, and pray, as we are commanded and not as we would prefer, for the repentance of the men who sent them.
Blessed are the peacemakers. It is not written that blessed are the strong.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. + Karl Lugas Johansson Archbishop of Peterburi, Metropolitan of Moskovo, and Patriarch of All Ahrana Given at the Patriarchal Cathedral, Peterburi, the fifth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-six.
That is all we have for you here on ‘Ahrana Today,’ join us later today for our evening broadcast.
